Challenging beliefs sitting quietly. I prepare to take this journey inward as the body relaxes. I inhale. And exhale, allowing the nervous system to become calm, inhale and exhale. Relaxing the body, relaxing the mind, and now. I gently reflect on my life. I understand that there have been countless ideas and beliefs that I have adopted. Over time, these beliefs have shaped my vision, my attitude, my responses. The way I relate to the world in meditation, I can review these beliefs through the lens of the heart if an idea or belief. Is causing me to feel sorrow. I can look at it in safety. Is this something that I still believe? Do I want to keep this belief? Is there a spiritual principle that can guide me? To a new belief to live from. Take a moment now and bring up a belief you have about relationships, how they should be, how people should act, and condense the belief into one. Sentence now, review the words and actions and behaviors and scenes from the memory that have come from that belief. Do not judge yourself. Simply look and see clearly if this belief is working for you, continue to look. Now bring in a spiritual principle such as having tolerance or generosity of the heart, or honesty or contentment or leadership. Inject that spiritual principle into the scene and see how using spirituality and the qualities of the soul may transform the situation. How would the situation change if I was peaceful? How would the situation change if I was tolerant or accepting? Take a moment and see for yourself. Meditation is a very creative and beautiful activity. We are able to see the parts of ourselves that have remained hidden and shine the light of spiritual truth and understanding to allow for natural transformation. Now preparing to return to waking awareness, creating more active energy in my body, bringing the energy up to my face, moving my fingers and toes, and returning to waking awareness. Om Shanti.
