Learning patience, sitting quietly. I allow the body to relax. Let the nervous system calm. Listening to the music, I take a deep breath, inhale and exhale. As I sit in contemplation, I reflect on the quality. Patience. Patience is the ability to remain still and stable while a situation is unfolding. Where have I been impatient in my life? Do I have trouble remaining relaxed? Do I want things to happen now? Let me make a powerful distinction that can help me to be patient. It is okay. For me to want things to be a certain way. Sometimes we see that things are not happening and we feel a personal instability inside. We feel fear, we feel anger. We may even feel out of control. Let me try to remember that it is okay for me to wish for resolution. It is okay for me to wish for success or even for a specific outcome, and it is also okay for me. To allow the world to unfold in front of me exactly the way it is. This distinction of self-acceptance, acknowledgement of your own intention and wishes while allowing everything to happen. With your acceptance is the formula for patience. Take a moment now and bring up a situation where you are wishing for something to happen Now, acknowledge your wish. Totally accept the wish as valid, and okay. And now gently acknowledge and commit to accepting the situation as it unfolds. Keep both of these acceptances in your awareness. I accept my wish and I accept the world exactly the way it is. In this way, the natural quality of patience. Can emerge from the soul. Now preparing to return to waking awareness. Gently bring your attention and your energy up into your face. Move your fingers and toes and return to your day. Om Shanti.
