Bedtime thoughts. At the end of every day, there is a transition to a bedtime routine. Let me take a few moments to create. Experience a smooth and comforting transition into sleep. I start with my mind and emotions When I start my routine. To end the day, I notice what thoughts and feelings arise. Do I feel agitated, upset, craving some food or substances or activities to help calm the mind and body? Just notice what is there when I decide to get ready for bed. You may wish to play this meditation while you are actually getting ready for bed. I am noticing the thoughts and emotions that are perhaps residual from the day, and I gently make a decision to finish these thoughts and emotions with gentle direction. It is time to rest now. Whatever happened today or whatever did not happen today is okay. I talk to myself in this way as I am brushing my teeth. Changing my clothes, taking care of the body, and preparing for bed. Then I slowly reduce external stimulation and secure my home. Slowly reducing the amount of light and sound around me to create a quiet and secure environment. Then when I am in bed. I take a few slow deep breaths, inhale and exhale, allowing the nervous system to relax now that I am calm and comfortable. I spend a few moments watching my day in my mind as if it was a movie playing in front of me. I watch with interest and caring. I notice where I have been able to reflect my best qualities into the world. And I also gain valuable insights to help me improve where needed. I am lovingly committed to my own wellbeing and my own progress. When I am satisfied with my day review, I gently release the day into the past and go to sleep. The last thought before sleep, may of gratitude. Or love you may wish to pray or have a moment of heart to heart conversation with God. Let your heart be satisfied as you drift off to sleep. Om Shanti
